No, not ‘Finally the Christmas season has come to an end.’ Finally we have some cold to go with our Winter, and some snow to go with our cold. Not a good idea to be taking down the outdoor lights in these sub-zero temperatures however.
Finally. The Chequamegon Fat Tire Festival registration is open. It has been open a week. Put up your $5 lottery fee and you may win a spot. Yes, they need to pick participants by lottery, such is the demand.
And first and foremost, finally I bought a book on dieting. “Why not sooner?’ you ask. When you’re as good looking as I and married it could be a problem to look too good. A bit of extra weight can be a plus. A similar benefit comes with being too impoverished to purchase nice clothes. But Ike our dog is looking handsome, isn’t he.
If we could go back and change Ike’s name (short for Spike because our nephews couldn’t pronounce the ‘sp’) Circles might have been more appropriate; or maybe just ‘Crazy’. Nothing but a blur as he spins with excitement waiting to go out for a walk in the park. Unfortunately he doesn’t last long in the cold. We should have gotten him some boots for Christmas.
Finally, as you can see, we have a new back door. Now Misao confuses the back with the front because the back door looks so nice.
So what book did I buy? “The Bulletproof Diet” It was recommended by one of my brothers as we enjoyed Christmas eve together with family. Written by a Silicon Valley millionaire who spent $300,000 on his quest to lose weight, gain energy and remove his mental fog. With what he’s priced his book at he wont need much in sales to make a huge profit. The rich just keep getting richer. The essence of the book is his personal journey in discovering a diet that brings all the complex interrelated processes in our body back to proper working order and balance. It covers the latest science. It actually only cost me $3.50 because I used a $25 gift card I received last Christmas from a brother to whom I gave an extremely similar looking gift card some Christmases ago.
Anticipation. Will I be thin again? If only I had a Magic 8 Ball.
Finally I will let you know about a supplement that I have been alluding to in several posts; Magnesium. I saw a health report on News Max on the benefits of Magnesium concerning heart health, and in the support of the complex interactions in our body. This idea is in line with the Bulletproof Diet and magnesium is recommended in the book, at least certain forms. I have been taking Magnesium Citrate. The result for me of taking Magnesium is more energy, a drop of several pounds and my natural weight sways decreased in range from 5-6 pounds to 2-3 pounds over the course of a typical week. In this light I have some hope with the Bulletproof Diet. I’ll have more comments on the book in future posts; but it the diet starts with Bulletproof Coffee.
The Bulletproof Diet does not exclude meat. The BBC did a report on the radio comparing vegans and meat eaters. The conclusions were that meat was very important and one can get all the needed proteins the body requires, as a vegan, only because vegetables can be gathered from every part of the world. Otherwise one would be on a death spiral. The Bulletproof Diet points out the dangers of grain fed and hormone/antibiotic enhanced meat production (as well as the dangers of fructose) and in the BBC’s report a powerful theme of how we raise our meat, treat our animals, was reported as of growing importance to people. A large number of former vegans hunt their own meat. I believe vegans are small minded people who only desire a self-proclaim moral superiority over everyone else. But that’s just me. …Wait!
“Take me for a walk!” Doesn’t Ike look cute in his sweater?
In the book “The Bulletproof Diet” the author makes some interesting points concerning plants. That is that plants don’t want to be eaten. That plants produce toxins to keep pests and animals and people from eating them. That is why people can make so much money off explaining to us all the dangers of wheat and other grasses. Everything has it’s advantages and disadvantages. After wheat it will be something else.
But just think of the potential here, convincing all the vegans that plants don’t want to be eaten either.
Finally…
The $81 question: What are my three most favorite WORS races? Yes, same question. Check out the Charity Jackpot Page link in the sidebar to possibly triple the amount.
